Electrifying developments at the latest HTC- DAF meeting

Today, a high-energy meeting took place at HTC Greenford between key players in the electric vehicle and sustainability sector, featuring representatives from DAF head office Eindhoven, the DAF UK and HTC parts and sales team, HTC’s electric vehicle specialist, and software developers from Flexible Systems. The session was charged with collaboration, planning, and sharing best practices, case studies, and opportunities for new initiatives, all focused on providing customers with a turnkey solution through intelligent planning and a holistic consultation experience.

One of the current unknowns for customers is how to transition their sites to accommodate chargers, determine the number of chargers and vehicles needed, and ensure these capex investments pay off, eventually being considered ‘free.’ This is precisely what discussions centred around.

The meeting room was brimming with brilliant and entrepreneurial minds at the forefront of electric and sustainable technologies. Rob Van Helvoirt, the e-mobility and energy transition specialist, began the meeting with an inspiring presentation, followed by presentations from HTC electric vehicle specialist David Price, and Rob Derby, one of the Flexible Power Systems (FPS) representatives. The day highlighted how the customer journey can be simplified and made efficient through collaboration, planning, and observation of those already on their journey. It’s clear that the transition to electric is no longer a future concept; it’s happening now.

Discussions were further enriched by experts in the field, including Louis Jones, Rob Van Erp, and Adam Bennett, who shared their insights and ideas. Key topics discussed included battery storage solutions, green energy initiatives, and the promise of free energy. Additionally, there was a spark of interest in electric transition software for planning and surveying logistic routes, PACCAR chargers, vehicle charging needs, and support availability.

An essential part of the conversation was how to support customers on their journey to electrification. This involves understanding their needs through intelligent planning and route simulation to ensure they are fully charged for the future. The HTC parts and sales team was on board with learning how to best support their customers, along with DAF Parts team members Paul Janaway and Jackie Baker.

Exciting developments are on the horizon, and we’re amped to help our customers get involved now, ensuring they won’t be left behind in the dark.
